History and origin of original piece Italy, Florence, 1st half of the 16th c. A type of chest , popular in the Italian Renaissance, resembling antique sarcophagi; decoration attributed to Bartolomeo Ammanati’s workshop.The original piece is displayed in the Wawel Royal Castle in Poland.
